How did you find yourself on this career path?
I lost my job during Covid which gave me the time to finally pursue my dream of trying drag! It was about 2 years of playing around with makeup and costumes in my room until I started performing on a stage! From your view, what three words best describe you or your work?
Foolish, Punk-rock, MonSTARCould you tell us a rose (good) and a thorn (bad) of your area of the industry?
A big rose in the industry would be the support in the local drag scenes from fans! It’s so cool to have so many people consistently come see you perform. A thorn would be the lack of representation on mainstream drag shows of alternative performers, there is so much creativity and unique perspectives that aren’t being showcased What fills your cup?
I LOVE performing but to be my best on stage I need lots of downtime with my close friends. I’m not much of a partier, I’ll take a chill movie night with those closest to me over anything else. Where would you love to see in your lifetime?
I’ve been fortunate to travel lots in my life, but I would loooooove to perform in the UK - I feel my drag would be really celebrated there! Could you share a mortifying moment you experienced in this industry? How did you survive it?
Having to fight for payment agreed upon by high profile booking agencies. It’s wild that people would agree on a rate and then after the event try to give you almost half of that! I’m a really easy going person but I won’t put up with people disrespecting me or my time and after a few weeks of back and fourth I got myself and the rest of the performers the full pay they were agreed upon. What is one of your goals for the year?
I’m entering my first year of drag being my full time job, my goal is to make it through it so I can continue doing it! Lol
